Resolution Accepting the Resignation of Karen Wagner (D) from the Human Relations Commission (Councilor Hockenberrv) BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby accepts with regret, the resignation of Karen Wagner (D) from the Human Relations Commission, said resignation to be effective immediately; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council extends its thanks to Karen Wagner for the time she has dedicated to serving her community by her membership on the Human Relations Commission.
Resolution Appointing Arshad Mehmood (D) to the Human Relations Commission and Postponing Consideration of this Motion until the Town Council's Next Regularly Scheduled Meeting (Councilor Glickman) BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby appoints Arshad Mehmood (D) to the Human Relations Commission for a term ending November 30, 2018, to fill the unexpired term of Karen Wagner, and postpones consideration of this motion until the Town Council's next regularly scheduled meeting.
Resolution Appointing Sue Larsen (D) to the Mass Transit and Highway Advisory Board and Postponing Consideration of this Motion until the Town Council's Next Regularly Scheduled Meeting (Councilor Pendleton) BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby appoints Sue Larsen (D) to the Mass Transit and Highway Advisory Board for a term ending November 30, 2019, to fill a vacancy and postpones consideration of this motion until the Town Council's next regularly scheduled meeting.
Resolution Authorizing Payment of Blight Lien (Councilor Rilev) WHEREAS, the Town of South Windsor, through its Zoning Enforcement Officer, filed a blight lien for property located at 60 Paper Chase; and WHEREAS, the property at 60 Paper Chase suffers from a deteriorating, failing foundation which has resulted in the owner abandoning the property and entering into an agreement to sell in lieu of foreclosure; and WHEREAS, RCN Capital Funding has agreed to purchase the property in lieu of foreclosure and intends to tear the property down and construct a new house; and WHEREAS, constructing a new home on said property will have a positive impact upon the neighborhood and property values; and WHEREAS, RCN Capital Funding promptly remediated the conditions leading to the blight lien upon agreeing to purchase the property; and WHEREAS, RCN Capital Funding has agreed to pay $1,700.00 in full and final payment of said blight lien; and WHEREAS, the Town Attorney, Town Manager, and Zoning Enforcement Officer all recommend acceptance of said payment in exchange for release of said lien NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of South Windsor accepts $1,700.00 in full and final payment of said lien and the Town Manager is hereby authorized to execute a RELEASE of said lien on behalf of the Town.
Resolution Approving a Refund of Property Taxes to One Hundred and Thirty-Five (135) South Windsor Taxpayers (Deputy Mayor Paterna) BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby approves a refund of property taxes to one hundred and thirty-five (135) South Windsor Taxpayers, the total of said refunds being $217,476.27 as shown in attached Exhibit A.
